  1. Spring (Haru): Spring in Japan is a much-anticipated season, marked by the blooming of cherry blossoms, or “sakura.” From late March to early April, the entire country transforms into a picturesque scene as cherry trees explode with delicate pink and white flowers. Hanami, or flower viewing parties, are held in parks and gardens, where people gather to appreciate the blossoms and enjoy picnics under the trees.
  2. Summer (Natsu): Summer in Japan is hot and humid, but it also brings vibrant festivals, fireworks displays, and opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities. Beaches and coastal areas become popular destinations for swimming and sunbathing, while summer festivals, such as the famous Gion Matsuri in Kyoto or Nebuta Matsuri in Aomori, showcase traditional music, dance, and colorful floats parading through the streets.
  3. Autumn (Aki): Autumn in Japan is renowned for its breathtaking foliage, known as “koyo.” From late September to early December, the leaves of maple, ginkgo, and other trees transform into vibrant hues of red, orange, and gold. This natural phenomenon attracts visitors from around the world who enjoy activities like hiking, nature walks, and visiting scenic spots like Kyoto’s Arashiyama Bamboo Grove or Nikko’s Toshogu Shrine.
  4. Winter (Fuyu): Winter in Japan brings colder temperatures and, in certain regions, heavy snowfall. This season offers opportunities for skiing, snowboarding, and enjoying hot springs, known as “onsen.” The snow-covered landscapes create stunning winter scenery, especially in places like Hokkaido, where you can experience the Sapporo Snow Festival or partake in winter sports in Niseko.

Each season in Japan holds its own allure, providing a diverse range of experiences and natural beauty for visitors to enjoy throughout the year.
